What We Do
Competition law and policy is a key foundation for market economies. The Advisory Centre for Competition Law & Policy in Africa provides targeted and strategic support to help regulators ensure that competition is properly regulated and enforced.
We pool expertise and knowledge to empower competition regulators. This includes on-demand legal and economic advisory services such as advising on market inquiries and merger reviews, the development of legal frameworks, guidelines and codes of conduct, support to investigate cases of misconduct, and capacity-building and knowledge-sharing through embedded advisors and twinning programmes.
These services are offered by a team of leading international experts in competition law and policy.
Who We Are
The Advisory Centre is jointly managed by the Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development (CCRED) at the University of Johannesburg and the Shamba Centre for Food & Climate.
The Advisory Centre builds on the existing legacy of data, analysis and services provided by CCRED and the Shamba Centre. It also leverages the strong support from our partners worldwide.
